Which communication technology is used for smart meter

Smart Biogas uses the 2G GSM network to send data to our servers. We typically provide a global SIM card that connects to the strongest available 2G network. Most networks are partners with our global SIM provider but please check with us to make sure the networks in your area are compatible. Using a global SIM card allows Inclusive Energy to discover and rectify faults as we can see network registration issues, however, you can also use local SIM cards if you prefer.

You must have 2G connectivity in the deployment area for Smart Biogas to work.

Do I pay for the data charges?

Yes, these SIM cards incur a cost that you will be charged for. By default the device communicates with the server every 1 hour to send data, please contact us for specific data costs.

How much data is consumed by the device in a month?

Data consumption depends on the packet sending interval, by default it is hourly which consumes around 5 MB of data for a month.

If the GSM network goes down, will I receive all data again when the network comes back?

Smart Biogas units have 28 days of data backup, once the communication is restored device sends all the historical data.

Check if 2G services are available at the device's installation location for local SIM use.
