SB has two sensors onboard  1. Pressure sensor

The static pressure sensor measures the biogas pressure at the point where the Smart Meter is installed. This provides valuable insight into the operating condition of the biogas system.

For example, pressure data can indicate:

  • Whether the gas storage is full.

  • When biogas is being used for cooking.

  • When the biogas plant is venting.

  • Other operating conditions and system behavior.

This data is primarily used for monitoring plant performance and diagnosing faults.

Measurement Range:

  • 0–10 kPa

  • 0–100 mbar

  • 0–1.45 psi


2. Flow Sensor

The flow sensor measures the amount of gas flowing through the pipe and is useful for measuring the amount of gas flowing through the pipe. This data we typically use for calculating carbon credits, and fault analysis. It can measure the maximum flow rate: 0.64 liters per second, 38.4 liters per minute, 2.304m³ per hour.
 


Can I replace the sensor in case of malfunction? 

Sensors cannot be replaced without guidance from a qualified technician. Each sensor is carefully calibrated and very sensitive so must be re-calibrated when replaced.



What is the accuracy of sensors?  

Smart Biogas has been tested by The University of Nottingham (UK) and internally by Inclusive Energy.

~330 lph which is the minimum flow rate required for cooking, the average accuracy is ±1.77%. Where the flow rate drops below 330lph the inaccuracy increases but these flow rates would not be sufficient to sustain a flame, hence we have optimized accuracy for the range greater than 330lph.
