Smart Biogas Overview
What is a Smart Biogas meter?
Smart Biogas is a real-time monitoring system for biogas digesters. It is connected between digester and stove or other biogas appliance and sends flow and Pressure data to the software app, enabling performance insights, asset management, and more accurate emissions reduction calculation and reporting.
Smart Biogas is designed to monitor a large number of biogas systems over a wide geographical area. Our meters collect data on the operation and functionality of biogas plants and provide automated fault alerts and rich performance insights.
What is venturi
The venturi is a unique feature of Smart Biogas devices. The Venturi is designed so at two points, there is a change in cross-section area, and the difference in the area gives differential pressure, which is detected by the differential sensor on the device, which is then used to measure flow. Unlike other meters, this design does not allow the gas to pass through it, increasing the life of the battery.
It is common to see moisture in the gas pipeline from the digesters. By connecting tubes vertically to the device, the venturi prevents moisture from going to the sensors and keeps it functioning as long as possible.
