General specifications
We supply a small 3W solar panel with Smart Biogas devices to charge the battery. The cable length is 3m.
On a good day, this panel should charge the battery from flat to full within 5 hours.
If you are in an area with very low solar irradiance, please get in touch and we can supply a larger panel.
Positioning: Depending on where you are in the world, the ideal position will change. As a general rule:
If you are within the tropics, the panel should lay flat.
If you are in the Northern Hemisphere, it should be tilted to the South
If you are in the Southern Hemisphere, it should be tilted to the North

I live in a less sunny area, how does the device work?
Once the battery gets fully charged it can last for 3 days without sun. However, if you still find the unit is insufficiently powered get in touch with us at support@smartbiogas.io
It is possible to use an AC adaptor that will charge the battery via the solar panel connector.
