General specifications

 

We supply a  6W solar panel with Smart Biogas devices to charge the battery. The cable length is 4m.

On a good day, this panel should charge the battery from flat to full within 5 hours.

If you are in an area with very low solar irradiance, please get in touch and we can supply a larger panel.  

Positioning: Depending on where you are in the world, the ideal position will change. As a general rule: 

If you are within the tropics, the panel should lay close to flat but with a slight incline to allow water and dirt to run off.

If you are in the Northern Hemisphere, it should be tilted to the South

If you are in the Southern Hemisphere, it should be tilted to the North

  I live in a less sunny area,  how does the device work? Once the battery gets fully charged it can last for 3 days without sun. However, if you still find the unit is insufficiently powered get in touch with us at support@smartbiogas.io
