What happens when a customer runs out of credit?
When a customer runs out of credit or reaches their 'negative charge limit', a signal is sent to the Cloud Solar device to switch off the load and USB outputs. The charge controller will continue to function and the battery will be charged using the solar input.
If a customer is on an instalment based payment plan, credits will continue being depleted from their account every day/week/month despite being below their negative charge limit. The customer will then need to top-up to get back above their negative charge limit and start to use energy again.
Coming soon: You will soon be able to choose how this situation is handled. Instead of the customer accruing debt, they will be allowed a payment holiday meaning that their payment plan is on pause and the length of the pay-back period is extended. The customer still cannot use energy during this time.
